Hi from QLD, Australia =)

Hi guys!

Have been reading through your forum and thought I'd sign up.

My partner has recently acquired a Turbo 500 still, I notice they're not very popular here, but will have to do for now.

Very new to this - he has done a couple of batches already, using the yeast from the brew shop - we are quite happy with the final product, though me being the penny pincher that I am, looking to find cheaper ingredients, methods etc. Can end up being quite expensive by the time ya pay for yeast, sugar, filters, essence etc.

So far he's been doing it all, but I'd like to have a go also. The birdwatcher's recipe looks good, I told my partner about the tomato paste he just laughed and gave me a funny look... soo I'm keen to give it a try, I see he has a spare fermenter sitting there empty so off to the supermarket tomorrow for me!

I will keep reading in the meantime... any advice from people who have this still will be much appreciated!

Thanks for a great forum =)

Wecome aboard, You will find that BirdWatchers is a great recipe. It will ferment fast and clean. Just follow the recipe, make good cuts and you will not need to filter it.

Turbo 500, Not sure I know this one, a little more info would be good, where did you get it and so on? Afraid I may know where you got it but let us know. Other than that Welcome and have fun.

+2, Birwatchers for voddy and Rads All bran for voddy or whiskey. Works right out of the box, so easy you could call it plug and play...

Oh yeah, welcome to the best and longest running Home Distillation site on the net, glad you made it...
