Send some of your excess heat to the Pacific Northwest. We're setting record lows. Almost lit a fire in the wood stove the other day.

Here's the HIGH temps for this week for Seattle...
68, 64, 72, 75.

I spent part of one July in Atlanta Georgia, it was over 100 degrees, with 100% humidity. I don't know how you guys handle that everyday. Do you get used to it?

Stay hydrated, drink water before you're thirsty, if you're not passing water during the day, then you're not drinking enough fluids. If you're passing water at night, I'd suggest Depends.

Holy Moly, As a West Coaster I feel for you boys, here on Puget Sound we've had exactly 3 days so far this year that have toped 80F, just got done raining for 3 days. Going for a 3 day boat camp on the Hood Canal this weekend and the weather report says upper 70's just right. Guess I better quit complaining about rain, think that is easier to take than the heat you boys are going through.
Sometimes I wonder why is that Frisbee getting bigger......and then it hits me.

I used to complain about rain also MntDoo, till I went several months without it, my area is 22 inches behind this year, and just 40 miles from where I live, the Mississippi river just went through a 40 year flood, almost setting the highest level ever recorded. :wtf:

No Bull ya don't get used to it ur just miserable. But on the other hand I spent 6 months at Fort Lewis many years ago and with the exception of maybe 2 days it rained the whole friggin time. Back then they counted days w/o sunshine, when it got to 50 days I thought I was gonna loose my mind.

Ya, stay hydrated. I drink at least a gallon of water each day. Caffine only in AM, no soft drinks, and when I relieve my self I pay careful attention to the color, too yellow or cloudy and I'm drinkin more water.

And thank God for AC at home

Right now, at 6:00pm, it's 89F outside and 86F inside, with air conditioner working its little heart out... Chances are good that it'll get hotter inside before it gets cooler as the air conditioner has been running for weeks without a rest... I hate the heat but hate the humidity even more... But, on the brighter side, at least we don't have to shovel heat and humidity...

Bragger, bitch, dammit, lucky, whats a duvet? It comes and goes here in Dixie, heat and dry then wet and humid, nowhere is perfect except where LW lives

A duvet? You'll hate me even more - it's a big cover blanket that's filled with goose down! In the middle of summer!!

Yes they have LWTCS, now they are here for us to enjoy. Most are locked down in their houses complaining about the heat and in 3 to 4 months it will be to cold and they will come back to ya. Would be great to chase the weather like that. I do have to say they bring work here when they come back for the summer.

Do you get used to it?
Yes, you kind of get tempered to it. Today it was 96F with dew points around 70-74. It felt great, compared to 98-100 with dewpoint at 80-81. Its all down hill for me. Yup, I bit the bullet. Got the boys comin to install central air in the shop tomorrow. Eat that shit, heatwave.......

Well, seems my cursing at the heatwave has scared it off a bit.... Today was quite pleasant. 84F W/ low 60s dewpoints. Tomorrow, back in the 90s and 70+ dewpoints. Seems I have yet to conquer this beast. Air conditioner install is almost complete. From there I will for surely win this battle with my nemisis....The dreaded heat wave.....Basterd.. :shifty:

For now I will sit in my castle and sip whisky.... Time to regroup.. Round two.... I will not give up. This battle is far from over.

It has cooled off here a little bit from yesterday also, bank thermometer across the street from the shop said it only hit 92 today, kinda like working in air conditioning compared to yesterday.
And in my previous post I mentioned that visability was limited due to humidity....
I later learned that it was caused from forest fire smoke blowing in from Canada. I never would have guessed that smoke from the north would cause poor visability this far away when it us usually a south wind that brings this kind of heat up north...

Well, its moved east and packs a whallop! Just did a stripping run in the garage - 104 degrees when I started, 112 when I finished. Time to rehydrate!
