Wildfire in my Olympics
I am sitting here at my computer looking at what usually is an awsome view of the Olympic mountains and I see nothing but smoke, it makes me feel sick. I know there are a lot of us on here from the area just a reminder, be carful with fire this time of year, anywhere, I use a propane burner on my cooker and had a near miss the other day. Finally get to put the rain gear up for a bit and now have to dawn the fire fighter clothes, no good.
Sometimes I wonder why is that Frisbee getting bigger......and then it hits me.

Yep the state to the south of you is burning everywhere and the eastern half is fighting stubble field fires every day
No rain in something like 75 or 80 days now and none in the near future.
The Man Cave is to frickin' hot at night to do much playing in so maybe after deer season. . .
Hope we don't run out of hooch

Been spared so far in B.C. I don't think we're out of the woods yet, though. Summer has just arrived with a roar! The ground is all crunch crunch when you walk.

OlympicMtdoo.
We just moved my Mom out of her house (it sold finally) in the Brinnon area. I wish they would have ramped up the fight on that fire from day one, rather than waiting and letting it get away from them.
I've hiked a lot of those trails in that area, where's our rain when we need it?

Good luck to everyone affected by fires. We just lost 1400 homes to fire last week in this county.

Yes BD a late summer this year. I think the worst is going to come on Bull's side of the Cascade mountains. Fire risk is rated high.
Sorry to hear OMD. You usually dont have too much Wild fire problem on the wet mountains. Hopefully they will keep them in check. Olymipcs are beautiful from here. we can still see a little snow.

Wow, that really suprises me that the Olympics would be on fire, now that I am two months in Europe our area finally starts to dry out. Be safe!

Good timing to get your Mom out of Brinnon Bull, they sure should have got after that fire dfrom the get go but I guess they are smarter than the rest of us. I haven't hardly been able to see the Mountains for days now, the Olympics or the Cascades, I have a view of both from my house, usually.
