Greetings from Oregon
I've been been a homebrewer-wine maker for 15 yrs and a distiller for 3. I built a still out of a 15gallon beer keg with a 2" copper reflux column 36"tall. I built in a 1350 watt water heater element and sit the keg on a 90,000 btu propane burner. I can go either/or/both. Most of my distilling has been of fruit wines. There is so much fruit up here in the fall for the taking it's insane. Currently finishing a plum brandy and have in the works a grappa from 1 ton of previously squeezed reisling grapes and an apple brandy. I found and old apple orchard while elk hunting and got about 500 pounds of ripe apples before the bears got to them. I'm having a few issues with my grappa but thats for another forum. I just wanted to introduce myself and express my appreciation for the folks on this site. Most of my questions get answered just looking around. So thanks and happy cooking. ---Farmguy---
