Hi,
I am wondering if i open my needle valve all the way and take out the copper packing and let my 4 foot off set fractionating still run with low heat, will it just be a pot still? I am wondering because I want to make absinthe and I know that the essential oils wont make it through the packing. I think it should be the same as a pot still. Right? Has anyone done this? Any advice?

Exactly which reflux column design are you asking about, electrictibet...??? It sounds like on of the Liquid Management designs but detuning can be slightly different between specific ones... I prefer to totally remove the needle valve on my rig when I detune it for pot stilling...
