Maybe it was just a really bad wash

perhaps only a portion of it is distilled 4 times... or maybe they use a thumper twice and call it 4 times.... i don't think the rules about how many times you've distilled your beverage are really that strict...

I took a tour of a local distillery last year. Their column has 16 plates on it. Technically they could say the spirit is distilled 16 times (they don't because they now it's all just a seedy marketing scheme).

The value of the item is in the collectible container, not its contents.
That pretty much sums it up... There's a sucker born every minute...

I made a UJSSM feints pot still run last summer; I made the normal stripping run (1), then a spirit ruin (2), made my cuts and blend which left me with the rejected heads and tails. I made a feints run (3) and could still pick up some off taste. I ran it a final time (4) and ended up with the cleanest product I have run since I started. By my count, that is 4 full runs through my pot still. My Son brought me a bottle of expensive Vodka from Iceland that is very good. I have had several blind tasting with my 4X vodka and the Icelandic vodka and only one person could tell the difference. With all that work in it, I wouldn't take $70.00 for a 750 ml bottle of it if I would sell any (which of course I would not).

Its all a scam. That bottle is in now way collectible---it's a loophole and the only way they're allowed to sell booze on eBay.
