Building a Still

Post by Kokomo »

I have never distilled anything at this point but i am very interested in trying. I have recently aquired an iten that appears to have a lot of potential. It was made by Arthur H Thomas and appears to be circa 1940. It is electric. I found a very similar picture on the net but it was referred to as a copper lobster steamer. Does this thing have potential or will modifications due to lead be cost preventative?

I would be very hesitant to advise using an old lobster boiler as a still... It is almost with 100% certainty that I can state that it contains lead based solder... You would be better off keeping it as a conversation piece and finding a better and safer boiler...
