not necessarily, correct rad.
although the site does not allow for printing and the use of scrubbing software is forbidden there is still a way however its time consuming and not pretty,
i was once going on a 18 hour flight and wanted to finish the flute talk thread (for the 2nd time) but couldn't print it or save it for offline viewing but what you can do is from your browser page.
click the file button (PC only) and then print/print preview page. its going to want to print your entire browser page, you now have two choices leave it as is, messy and unorganized with all sorts of extra wording from the headers and footers, or you can save the file and open it in paint and copy past delete as you like to make it readable. do this for every page you want to read. soooooo like i said its not easy and depends on how bad you want to have it printed off.

Re: Print entire thread
You cannot print an entire multi-page topic... This has been discussed... Yes, there are round about ways but it's more bother than it's worth IMHO... A better solution is to use Cut & Paste to glean only the most pertinent information and then make a reference journal of notes...

Just above your name when logged in, there is a print button. Click that, then CTRL-P and save as PDF. You have to do this page by page, no way to get all the pages at once.
You can skip the print button and do it page by page by hitting CTRL-P, but a tad messier.
Using Chrome, you can right-click on a page, select SAVE AS, make sure you select COMPLETE WEBPAGE from the bottom dropdown, and name the pages as you save them one at a time on your computer. Will lose most images, but you can then read on your computer while not connected.

Check out webstripper, downloads the entire site for offline viewing.

Re: Print entire thread
Beware of webstripper type apps...long ago I tried one of those apps. They typically make 100 hits/sec and compromise the whole HD site. My excuse was the site was going down, (it was down for a brief period). It never went down.
Read what you read, copy text by highlighting the text, copy and paste your selection into a word doc on your device. No need to download the whole website because you will be downloading gigabites of shit that google could have sorted for you in the first place.

Re: Print entire thread
If you do this, you will likely be looking for a different web site to play on. DO NOT do this.bellybuster wrote:Check out webstripper, downloads the entire site for offline viewing.

Re: Print entire thread
Thanks for the responses.
webstripper downloads the entire website but not a single thread.
I found some pearl scripts that run in Linux but I anint gona use them.
i also saw that there may be an option for the phpBB software that allows the user to print an entire thread.
I only asked because I hate reading these threads I would rather print it and make a book so I can highlight and mark pages.
I am old school
Anyway thanks!

Re: Print entire thread
I think someone already mentioned this, but it seems like it should be easy enough to click the "Print View" button near the top of the page and then print the thread out a page at a time. Of course you would need to access each page of the thread individually - THAT could be a problem if you wanted to print something like the birdwatcher's recipe. But then, why the heck would you want to do THAT?
Firstrunnings, I think you're correct about the capability being available with phpBB. I have been on other forums that have that option available.

Re: Print entire thread
Unfortunately the thread that want to print is 160 Pages but when I went to print some of them they came out to as much as 6 pages.
So it may be more than a couple of hundred.
Plus its easier for me to read the print view.
I guess i will have to live with it unless the option is added to the phpBB software

Re: Print entire thread
You can make your printing more efficient by changing your default printing margins.
zero out your header and footer, delete the text being put in the header and footer, make the margins .5 all the way around....It'll help a little bit.
Mozilla has a really cool addon that allows you to do some really neat things with printing webpages....it could help a lot
