If any one wants to post success story's about a new product, then go ahead.
My favourite two to use are.............
Alcotec Turbo 6, I buy it for $6.50
and the new one I have been playing with is
Distillers Whiskey Yeast at $5.50
Both make a good drop.

I have got a fantastic deal on some Turbo yeast for you. It is such a great deal that after you buy this you can go and brag about it over in the "Anybody get any good deals lately" thread - http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... =7&t=22177
I am willing to sell the following for the low, low price of only $3.00 each (plus shipping)
7x Prestige Professional Vodka Yeast Blend with AG (72g)
5x Prestige WD (with AG) (23g)
3x Rum Turbo (62g)
3x Black Label Turbo (90g)
2x Prestige Pot Distillers Yeast (115g)
1x 8Kg Turbo (115g)
1x 48 Hours Turbo Pure (135g)
Or buy the whole damned lot of 22 packages for $50 + shipping (that's $2.27 each)
If that is of interest to you I also have several unopened packages of activated carbon and a number of essences. PM me and I'll extend my generous "Black Friday" discount to those items as well.

Well I don't like turbo yeasts. And I don't rip off my wifes baking supplies. If I want to bake bread. I get the yeast from my brewing supplies. Using just yeast. Not some over priced yeast packaged with a whole bunch of UN needed nutrients. If you don't like "Turbo yeasts" please don't post. Please return to ripping off your wife's bread making supplies

The guy who helped me get into this hobby insisted that I use only the best yeast. I bought it all from him; I fell for it, hook-line-and-sinker.Jkhippie wrote:Michaeln416 - I just gotta ask.....How the hell did you end up with that ungodly collection of crap?
He was afterall a distinguished author, writing a popular book about Home Distilling. So I trusted him and gave him my money.
It wasn't until I was a couple of batches in and unable to drink any of it, that I searched online and found this HD forum.
I was sure that my problem had to be the water that I was using because my recipe came directly from Ian and I was using the best yeast on the planet.
In my early reading here on HD I would see people mention from time to time that they were using baker's yeast. When I first saw that I thought to myself "that poor chap can't afford real yeast." After reading it again and again I decided to try it. I followed a recipe from the Tried & True section using bakers yeast and the exact same water as before.
BAM! Problem Solved!
Now my only problem is trying to find a bigger sucker than I to unload all of this turbo-crap on.

Well, no doubt I will get kicked off for this, but some of you jokers need to get your head out your arses and get a life. Why don't you return to shagging your wife/cousin?

Hmmm... Seems as though I recall PM'ing the OP that he had no control over who replied or what they had to say... And he still hits the spin cycle when it happens...!!! Go figure...!!!
I highly doubt any of us are way behind NZ, especially considering how you can barely even find copper there, or much of anything else for that matter...
Suck it up, Buttercup, and move on... It's not the end of the world just because nobody else likes turbo yeast... Gotta wonder why, eh...???

Re: Comercial Yeasts (Fans page)
My sincere apologies jase1977; the way I worded my post was definitely offensive to those that appreciate using a Turbo yeast.jase1977 wrote:So to those haters out there..... Go ____ YOURSELF
How I should have said it was that I am a dumb-ass for buying so much of something before actually trying it and knowing if I liked it or not. It turns out that my palate didn't appreciate the end result. Either it was simply a taste preference thing, or I don't have the skill and finesse to properly use that product and bring out its best qualities. Perhaps you do.
Nonetheless; I do have several unopened packages that I'd love to sell to someone who will appreciate them. In addition to the turbo's mentioned I have 16 bottles of a variety of premium essences that averaged $3 each that I'll sell for $1 each. Also I have 5 or 6 unopened bags of activated carbon that I paid about $10 each for that I'll sell for $3 each.
Like I said, I'd love for this to go where it would be appreciated rather than have it cluttering up my space.
Summary: 22 turbo's for $50 + 16 essences for $16 + 5 bags of carbon for $15 TOTAL: $81 + shipping.
It is an open offer, first PM followed with PayPal or Bitcoin gets it all.
Edit to add: this offer is only suitable to individuals who know that they like/want a turbo-produced product. If you are not sure then skip this offer and instead start off with a recipe from the Tried and True section. I wish that I had been given this advice when I first started.

Turbo Yeast:
Yeast with a high alcohol tolerance and a nutrient package. Everything looks good so far.
The problem is a thin, high gravity wash, fermented at high temps and distilled poorly and filtered with carbon.
These words of wisdom are probably lost. This post started bad and will only get worst.

Re: Comercial Yeasts (Fans page)
I gotta say that turbo yeast is the best. You heard it, I said it! There are 3 things that make it the best. 1- when you are getting that new shine still going and you doing your cleaning runs and you got to da a sacrificial run. Drop it in and its ready to go. You gotta be tempted to drink it. Yea one sip and it hits the grass. It keeps you honest 2- should this post be in the liars bench thread. Then we could just lie and say how great it is. 3- I know that the moonshiners show doesn't use yeast, instead use malted corn. They use it I know it. We would not have that great show without turbo yeast

I thought for sure that I had finally found someone who would take that off of my hands AND leave me feeling good about it. Had I tried selling it to someone that didn't know better, I would have felt guilty as hell for taking advantage of them.Jkhippie wrote:Damn, Michaeln416, you can't seem to give that shit away! I'd hate for it all to go to waste. Maybe I'll experiment with it in an old trashcan filled with dog shit (I have two dogs) and food waste to see if I can make some fuel to run the lawn mower with next year.

It kinda reminded me of a guy in high school when I saw the pics. It looks like rubbers and the guy tells the girl he will use any of them she likes. No takers.

I just thought of another use for them - I wonder how many packages of turbo yeast it would take to blow the cap off of my neighbor's septic tank?

Now you are talking. So I know this is gonna be a little weird but the stank in a septic might be consumed by the turbo and decide not to stank any more. I have heard it is good for that seriously.

I'm thinking troll. If not then let me say this.
The different perspectives keep the site moving forward and allow us all to exchange ideas. For reasons covered many times here yours is not a popular one.
I respect your pride in your country but refute your hater attitude based on nationalism.
Not needed here. If you have info that may be enlightening put it on the table.
If you are compiling a shopping list of turbos based on the opinions of others please take it somewhere else. You will find few turbo fans here. Bein HICKS and all.

Interesting! However, for my own septic tank I wouldn't dare use anything but bakers yeast.halfbaked wrote:I have heard it is good for that seriously.
Which incidentally it does get every time I wash out one of my fermenting buckets.

Lol @jase. Calm yourself dude! Here everyone is just having a good time joking, and you get your panties in a wad?? Turbo yeast is probly great for all those sugar washes you make and then flavor with your still spirit flavoring agents! But for real distillers the good stuff comes from a well formed mash and proper aging. What do I know though, I'm just a hick!!

Re: Comercial Yeasts (Fans page)
Ok so i have used turbos in my sugar washes only use half the packet per 20lts mind you and i don't get any off tastes or what not... BUT in saying that there is no better way than to use a normal or brewers yeast as tried and tested by many if not all the 'stillers on this forum. personally i use them because I'm pretty much constantly stuffing around with my still and idras and what not and sugar wash is cheap and easy to produce to test my ideas with. When.i get around to making a grain mix or ujssm or something that may indeed be absolutely delicous i will not use turbos.
Just my thoughts anyways
