Xylitol

Post by mAShMaN1 »

Has anyone heard of Xylitol or if it is fermentable? I found it at a bulk food store and it can be replaced 1 to 1 with sugar. I read an article about it and it said there were health benefits and its the only sugar that bacteria cant grow on. Its kinda expensive so I wanted to know if anybody has used it

Xylitol is non-fermentable... Do a Google search using the term "is Xylitol fermentable" and you can learn more...

Just out of curiosity, why consider using it versus tried and true simple sugar that's much less $$?

I was just looking for something new to try and where it isn't affected by bacteria I thought it might make a better spirit. Not saying that simple sugar don't make good stuff its the best sugar wash I have tried
