Double coil condenser.
I am making my first still. My plans are a 15.5 gal keg with 2" tower 24" tall. I want to then go into a double wound coil condenser. Does this sound like a good idea? And I'm having trouble finding plans for the condenser. Can anyone give me a link to help me out.

A 24 inch by 2 inch reflux column is a bit short.
This would be a good place to start looking for further info.... http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=46

What type of still are you attempting to make, a pot still or a reflux column...??? The type(s) of spirits you intend to make dictates the still design you should choose...

I am wanting to make the column interchangeable from a simple pot still to a reflux. After reading I am assuming the easiest way to do this is make the column a little long and add packing. Is this correct?

Re: Double coil condenser.
For a true reflux column you would need a tall column filled with structured packing and a reflux condenser at the top to generate the reflux that would reboil as it descends through the packing... If you haven't already done so you should read up on the theories and fundamentals of reflux/fractionating stills... As part of your mandatory research you should already have read this during your read (several times) of the entire parent site... There are also topics in the New Distiller Reading Lounge which you should have already read as well...
