Happy Easter to all! The ham and potato salad are almost ready.
we had a special guest from Metter Ga named Archie Jordan at church this morning. He has had a successful career as a songwriter in Nashville. Ronnie Milsap sang one of his that most took as a love song but was really written as a spiritual. Perhaps you have heard it:

"What A Difference You've Made In My Life" an original sung by Archie Jo...: https://youtu.be/nnWau4S9n80" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Well, maybe y'all can identify with this,....
I was sitting in Church this morning; I kept thinking how one of those White Oak Church pews would split up real good and make some good Charred Oak sticks to age some Likker on.

That would be some hallowed hooch, what with all the prayers made and discussions with the Lord made on that wood.

I can't look at anything copper or stainless without thinking, hemmmm...how could I use that... The pews I was sitting on this morning are white oak too, but I have to say, I have never YET thought of cutting them up for sticks. But then again I think I have a life time supply of white oak laid back, enough that I use it for smoking ribs and steaks. We are blessed with loads of white oak in this part of West "BG" Virginia.
My family has had a blessed Easter so far here and hope all our HD brothers and sisters have a wonderful day as well.

Happy Easter everyone. Hope yours was filled with family, friends and food. We had Easter at my house after church. Everyone brought something for brunch. My contribution was creme brulee French toast, bread pudding and rava sheera. Of course all the usual dishes were there. Did I say I was stuffed? Ya, I'm stuffed.

Going to “resurrect” this thread 8)
Happy Easter everybody!
We’re doing “Alton Browns City Ham”, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs and a cherry pie tomorrow.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. Be safe out there.
Freedom had been hunted round the globe; reason was considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had made men afraid to think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing.
