I carried a tool box for 9 years. My sidearm of choice was a Ford wrench. Ended up with 4 expeditionary medals, numerous other medals, and a purple heart. Was bombed, grenaded, and shot at both on the ground and in the air. Not real sure what that has to do with distilling. But tacos were involved in one of those incidents. Never got to finish those tacos. The first one was good. Again with the tacos. Sory.Uncle Jemima wrote:I did carry a side arm though in a cool leg holster. So that's gotta' be worth some kind of tough guy points right? Of course. The cute 105 pound female hospital corpsman that gave me my flu shot did too so maybe not.
And seriously. Look up Fuzzy's Tacos. If there's one near you get some. Then thank me later.

Nothing to do with distilling at all PP. just brought up that my life experience had thickened my skin plenty and that "Beaten Dog Syndrome" was not a problem for me earlier.
My weapon of choice was usually a multi-meter. Or a corrosion control kit.
Purple Heart huh? Damn. I've got two Armed Forces Expeditionary and Global War on Terror Expeditionary. Not sure what most of my "stack" was even for anymore. Glad I never "Earned" that one though.
The DFAC had a damn solid taco bar. After Mongolian barbecue night that was my favorite.
The steak was pretty good too as far as beef jerky goes.

It always amazes me when the internet becomes like the real world. I just can't get over it ...This forum is no different then the rest of the world over. You get this many different people together talking about the same subject. Someone is going to get butt hurt.
I do all my own stunts
Re: Livin on HD
If you insist on talking tacos, and you don't want the pics posted here, then make mine double chicken, with a side salad. OK?
I'll be back later to pick it up.

There is a mexican meat market down the road from here. They bring fresh killed calves and pigs in the shop all the time and put out a great assortment of meats everyday. I got some fajitas, straight off the quartered calf the other day. They cut them thin, like a 1/4 inch... Sear that up with onions and jalapenos and good tortillas. Freakin heaven on earth kind of taco...
If you like tacos, try this... take an avocado and about 3 jalapenos. Fire roast the japs and chop them up. Chop them seeds, black skin and all. Mash them into the avocado and add salt and pepper to taste. Put that on your taco... stupid good eats...

I'm a web developer and I have to say that it would be a little tricky but wouldnt put any more burden on the server than loading a page, most of the processing could be done client side, It can be done.rad14701 wrote:Drunk-N-Smurf, your ideas do make sense, in a way... Unfortunately, from a programmers standpoint, implementing the logic you have proposed is far more complicated than one might think... It would require more artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic than would be practical, not to mention the additional processing burden on the server...

I'm comin on 63 yrs old . Grew up in a coal camp/rural farming environment . My public education was limited . My quest for education is limited only by the hours I can remain awake . I lost 2 brawl/fights in my lifetime , first place winner in 2 gunfights and 1 knife fight . Survived the logging woods , 20 years underground in a coal mine , rodeo riding and horse breaking , and over 20 years of over the road trucking in specialized and heavy haul . Developed machine shop , welding/fabrication , and woodworking skills as part of my self improvement program .
My tolerance for people that ask to be spoonfed rather than use due dilligence to access information that has been made available to them is very limited . I have been learning here as the moderators requested . Any reason why other posters shouldn't do the same ?

Well said TB. I also think anyone not willing or able to do their own research and learning should pick another hobby. Mistakes are inevitable....NOT good!!

I'm quite fond of taco's too.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

OMG, no way. There is already enough bitchin back at the board management, without some forced log off rules being added.Forrest283 wrote:I'm on here way to much lately..... Re: Livin on HD
I started to ask this as a PM because I didn't want my internet ignorance to show, But others may need to know too and this looks like a good place to ask considering the topic. So here go's.
I have been living on HD a lot. Many times I get distracted, and my log on ends up active all night, as I don't shut down my PC because it is running my security system....Am I wasting HD's band width? If so I need to make a better effort to log off.

Re: Livin on HD
The first stupid question I asked on here was greeted with a PM basically saying that was a stupid question. Didn't bother me in the least. As a matter of fact I appreciated the way it was handled. He got his point across and I wasn't publicly embarrassed. A pretty classy way of handling it I thought. I'm far from thin skinned but when you are way out of your comfort zone things are different. Imagine being in a porno movie with John Holmes a d having Mr Holmes make fun of your tool on camera. Rhino skin wouldn't be good enough for that one.

No, not at all... The way the internet works is that communications are packed based so if you don't request a page the server doesn't send you anything... Now there are some sites that use code to automatically update information, like advertisements, but that they are usually served by different servers than the site you are actively visiting... I leave HD, as well as other sites, up on multiple PC's 24/7...Richard7 wrote:I have been living on HD a lot. I'm here almost daily. Hardly ever fail to learn something. And I do agree, some people don't have the tact necessary to prevent themselves from looking like a$$holes. Plus it's sometimes hard to interpret the tone of something that's written. If we look back at some of our first posts, I think we'll all agree that every one of us looked "young and foolish" when we first got started. Hopefully we learn and move on.
Re: Livin on HD
AZCZ,
I disagree. When I started out here, I was old and stupid. A few months of reading took off most of the rough edges. The education has been extensive and fun. The process of learning is what I enjoy the the most, but there is so much more than that here.
