Setting a Record
On the bottom of the Board Index page it states that "Most users ever online was 45 on Fri Aug 29, 2008 5:00 pm". The 29th was the last Friday in August in 2008. This year the last Friday in August will be on August the 28th. I propose that everyone that is interested mark that date and time down. Between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. lets see just how many registered users that we can get one line at one time. What about it, interested in setting a record?

Re: Setting a Record
Actually, that is only the record for recent times, about the last year or so. That counter was reset during some forum maintenance. The record before then was a lot higher.

BD, the mods can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the time is on Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Hookline, can you remember the number for the past record?

Don't know the default time setting offhand. If you log out, and then visit the site as a guest, it should show the default time zone.Hillbilly Rebel wrote:BD, the mods can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the time is on Eastern Daylight Savings Time. And can't remember the actual number of visitors, but it was much higher than the current record. Over 100 I think.

Re: Setting a Record
I think the last record, was right after UJ had a interview in some magazine/newspaper. It was when he was first listing the distillery going legit.
I think the record was in the 110 or so. I am sure it was 90 guests. That could certainly be beaten, IF we have a 'coordinated' time to do so, or if people sent out some 'invites' to other mailing lists that they are on advertising HD, just prior to the 'said' timeframe.
But usually, records like this, simply 'happen'. A new TV show comes out, and everyone wants to see, hits google, and ends up here. Say popcorn's last likker show aired on history channel. That might do it. When Billy Ray was doing the hillbilly shows, we saw an increase. When history channel does moonshine shows, we see increase, etc, etc.

Re: Setting a Record
On the great scale of things, setting a new record will not amount to much, but it may be a fun thing to do just to see if it can be done. Besides that, it will be interesting to see how many voices that could be mustered in the event that something came up that those on this site thinks is important enough to speak out on with many voices. With almost 3500 registered users,it shouldn't be too hard to beat 110 at one time. As you say, it will have to be a matter of coordination of times.

Use your avatar when advertising, rad. "So much free booze, several people may end up in in a situation like this (insert avatar here) " lol.rad14701 wrote: ??? Hmmm...Free Booze...

Using this meeting time calculator, for Sydney, London, and Topeka, we get
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/m ... 249&p4=136" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Problem is to get North/South Americans, Aussies/Kiwis/East Asians, AND British/Europeans/Africans all online at the same time is very difficult, because it will always be early AM (midnight-6 AM) in one of those regions.
Gonna have to pick two regions, and the third will either miss out, or be up at crazy hours.
