leaving town 3/4 into fermentation

Sugar, and all about sugar washes. Where the primary ingredient is sugar, and other things are just used as nutrients.

leaving town 3/4 into fermentation

Post by lunarwrase »

Hello. I am running my first large run of sugar wash, 30 gallons. I'v only done 5gl at at any one time to learn the process from start to finish. I have to leave town and will be gone for two weeks. any suggestions? my question is can i run it, should kill the yeast. then when i get back throw some yeast in it and more sugar and nutrients and start over. or run it and throw out the waste. or what else can I do. I dont want it to keep going and then go bad.
any suggestions would be appreciated
thanks in advance.

Just let it ferment and clear while you're gone... If sealed from infection it should be ready to run upon your return...

There's you answer, lunar. Not a problem if it's sealed.

Thank you. I was worried it would go bad. I'll turn the heat source off and let it drop down to garage temp. is about pretty cold at night.
