Yet another Noob

Post by tropico »

Hi folks,

all that i can say is WOW!

love this forum, and the wealth of knowledge and info, feel like i'm finally home.

Well, I'm not really a newb, but feel as though I have mastered the turbo thing and are able to produce a really wonderful neutral spirit straight out of the condensor.

So I gues my next step is my own sugar wash based on some of the recipes here, slightly modified of course to suit my local conditions/equipment/supplies.

Cheers and thanks,

Tropico

Greetings, tropico...

Sounds like you've been busy... We have plenty of Tried and True recipes to try, as well as some good recipes under development...

What kind of a still are you running...???

Thanks,

I've gots lots of reading to do here both the Tried and True recipes and the Novice section.

My setup is a modest store bought system, 25 litre boiler, and a mini stainless steel "Kegomax CM Reflux column" clone (48cm x 4cm) with stainless steel scrubbers in the column and a copper pipe attached to the condensor outlet to take the spirit away.

I would like to make my own column eventually but time is the enemy atm.

Cheers

A lot of the recipes here can be made from items from your local supermarket, pet store, or feed suppliers, dont get trapped with the brewshop bullshit.

My thoughts exactly.

When I was first put onto this by a friend is was simple, almost foolproof, and really didn't require any knowledge at all, as long as you pay for it and follow the instructions on the packet. I guess a lot of people are happy staying at that level, and enjoy what they produce.

But the real fun and gratification is yet to come
