Copper scrubbers

Post by NO1DLR »

Does having copper in a still make the the alcohol much better than ceramic rings or stainless scrubbers, assuming that the ABV is the same?

some copper somewhere in the system is desirable as it tends to strip out sulpher flavours. doesn't have to be packing though.

I don't need much copper though in the condensor do I? Will a 1cm layer of scrubbers be enough?

I put 1 SS Scrubbie inside the coil and 1 that I use as a sock on the outside.
It helps centralize the coil so that the distillate is falling into the center of the packing...
