I started with the absantee ballot a couple years ago. They come about four weeks prior and it gives a guy/gal some time to review/study whats being voted on.....As well, why would you help---I would call that a good start....

It's so simple and it guarantees the major parties getting the donkey votes. Here the votes are traded so you need to know where your vote may end up. Most people don't bother findin out...yeah duct tape is good cure for a choking polly!

I voted last Thurs. But that is due to the fact I am going to be setting up a table at the 200' mark here in a few minutes (by 7:30 or so), and will be staying there till 8:30 or so. Collecting signatures on a recall petition to throw the damn mayor out of office.

These clowns are going to have to learn that they can, and more importantly WILL be held responsible for their (in)actions.

There were 2 'paid' ($150 a day, each) still wet behind the ear kids that dogged me all day long. I think listening and debating with someone who COULD AND DID counter them, was one of the best things those 2 kids could get. Did it do any good, well, we will see in about 20 years or so.

Was pretty funny. They had one hell of a tough day today. I was all smiles, and all people (cept for 2) were very GLAD to find me. We are all volunteers, so are somewhat hard to find, being hit and miss on where we setup. I signed up a little over 360 today. And that was with most of the afternoon being VERY slow. Was funny, then chicky dogging me was all smiles, saying how few were signing (percentage). But it was sort of like the propane days for Hank Hill. I was telling people to tell friends, and also watching people that pulled in quick, voted and blew out, but who smiled and waved. About the time work ended, I was stacked 3, 4, 5, 8 deep constantly. Little chicky's bubble demeanor was much less bubbly by the time the night was over. Still a HELL of a lot of work. We have to collect 10% of all registered voters signatures, in 30 days. That is a HELL hard time.

We had one hell of a change in power today in this country. The biggest gains in my opinion are in the governorships. Those will be CRITICAL in 2 years.

Well, I am beat. Had a good time at the after party at HQ, and got some plans put up for the last 2.5 weeks.

Hope everyone got out and did their civic today. A VERY important part of what all of us do (or should do).

What drove me over the edge, is a simple fact such as I can not sign a petition. I have NO voice in the city gooberment of Omaha, but them FUKS now tax me $50 a month. I AM PISSSSSSEEEDDD OOFFFFF!!!!!

I can not vote on them, but I certainly can collect 1000 signatures (and will). We need 26k+ change. I personally will be getting 1k of them, and possibly over 2k. I got 360 today (closer to 370, cause I have a 1/2 sheet, and then one with a couple sigs). Over the weekend, a team of 3 of us got about 350, and I had gotten about 70 last week. Now, I will be setup at a full time location, from 7am to 11am and probably work that 4 or 5 days a week.

The team of 3 we put together over the weekend will be leading and 'teaching' the teams at the 4 full time places, and we are getting 14k of radio advertising. Up to now, it has been total word of mouth / volunteer. We now need to kick it up the last couple weeks left. After today, I think we are close to on track, but now with the election day over, it is back to where we will have to 'earn' all the rest of the signatures we need.

I participated in the California recall back in 03. It was neat to see the effort mature over time.

My horse ultimately did not win, but it was still interesting.
