After reading through the sugar wash forums, I became curious of final specific gravities. If someone had a sugar wash that lets say started at 1.090 and stopped at lets say 1.030, could they still distill it. Or would this depend on if the wash tasted sweet or dry?
What happens if someone distills a wash that is not done fermenting?

Re: SG Question
that is 2/3 done. sugar finishes at or below 1. distilling a not completed wash can foam, burn. if you have to distill this
the I recommend 1/2 boiler full and a slow heat up.

Re: SG Question
There would be a reason why the wash stopped fermenting (stalled) which could most likely be remedied... The most common reasons for a stalled wash are low wash temperature causing the yeast to go dormant, not enough nutrients possibly causing autolysis (cannibalism), or low pH... There are other reasons but it's usually one of those...
