Potentiometer wire size
I am building the controller based on the PSR-25 and a potentiometer. What guage wire should be used for the pot? Thanks!

Re: Potentiometer wire size
I ended up using 16 guage......it was the largest that would fit through the tabs on the pot and still be able to solder it. Finished it up last weekend. Haven't tried it on the boiler yet, have yet to weld on a coupling. It works great on my 2600 watt smoker though....

Re: Potentiometer wire size
I think that was overkill for a potentiometer that is only rated at 1W... Bell or jumper wire would have been plenty heavy enough... Remember, the potentiometer is on the control side, not the current side...woodtic wrote:I ended up using 16 guage......it was the largest that would fit through the tabs on the pot and still be able to solder it. Re: Potentiometer wire size
I use solid core phone wire. Rad is correct, bell wire would be fine. But your correct to overkill, rather than underkill.....
