I'm expecting to take receive my SSRMAN-1P,SSR today and hopefully this weekend I will have a working phase angle controller. I have a REX- C100 PID. I plan on using one when running my phase angle controller just as a type J thermocouple readout in my column. But I would also like to use the PID to heat water for mashing with its own SSR and element.
My questions are with the PID what SSR would I need a zero cross or burst fire? Also I'm thinking I could just have two plugs coming out of my control box choosing witch setup I wanted to use. is this possible or do i need a switch to divert power between SSR's

Re: REX- C100 PID
If I recall correctly you don't want to use a zero crossing for a resistive load...
