HD wiki back up and running

Post by Husker »

The wiki is back online.

http://homedistiller.org/wiki" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

The link from all forum pages should work also.

I have now 'fixed' the virtual site: www.homedistiller.org/wiki that site was not working before. The homedistiller.org/wiki was working, but there are tons of links using BOTH styles. I cleaned up most of the posts in the forums that were pointing to www.homedistiller.org/wiki, but there are still 1000's of links across the world using the www.homedistiller.org/wiki, and thus, the site was not being spidered properly. Now it is 'fixed'.

Now they both work.

Also, I 'think' I have http://homedistiller.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow and http://homedistiller.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow (and the wiki the same way), working properly. Before, we had problems if the www was not used. Now, this 'should' be a proper virtual site. It may make no difference in the end, and still not work properly. It is still recommended that the www. be used.

Okay, the wiki has been updated and restored to its former glory.

There were some issues in the httpd.conf and the wrong type of db was selected in the previous install for the wiki. You will find the vhosts in the vhosts file under the extra directory.

Best to stick to myisam for the legacy databases. The utf8 option would be preferable, but only when the character of the existing content is known. Switching to that might introduce multibyte gremlins. It's very tedious to convert a legacy db to the multibyte environment.

Cheers.

It appears as though thumbnails might not be getting generated... Either that or the paths to the images are broken...
