This works on my style model, your mileage may vary
look to the left of the red coils and see the 2 points that are open in 1 photo and shut in the other, solder them together and the hot plates is permanently on no more cycling.
You will need a controller of some form for the hotplate I was recommend (And bought) a phase angle controller, a variac should work fine as well.
This is the hotplate

Yeah, just pulling the two wires and connecting them together would have been easier and left the hot plate in a state where it could have been reverted to its original functionality...cob wrote:could you not unplug the line leg of the switch and move it to the switch side of the element? cob

Re: How to bypass hotplate cycling
i would consider re wring the whole thing to move the wires away from under the hotplate area
5 hours of ON if going to really cook that wiring....
my 2c

Returning the hotplate to orignal functionality was irrelevant lol it was £15.
Hmmm rewiring the plate might be in order I was also going to leave a small fan blowing at an angle so the air goes under the hotplate whilst running it.

Burnt my hotplate out LOL
I moved the wiring but the plate itself has browned and bent.
digging out the gas for temp solution and get heater element fitted pro next year for my can so I can still use my phase angle controller

Re: How to bypass hotplate cycling
A hot plate is going to be very prone to failing if the entire heating coil isn't in direct contact with a cooler surface... This would be especially true when running full power...
I had an electric stove element release the magic smoke once in a very violent manner... There was almost an inch of element coil missing in a split second... Very bright, loud, and stinky... Plus it permanently marked a stainless steel pan from the arc flash...
