just DICKERED not drunk!!!!

Post by Navy vet »

Well boy's, the Navy Vet is going under the knife/saw Thursday morning. Gonna be four hours of fun! The doc says both my hip joints are just DICKERED! Friggin osteoarthritis. I asked if they could just put a couple zerk fittings in so I could pump in few shots of grease when needed. They said no, better to just friggin sawzall them rite the hell out fer new hardware. I know I'm kinda young fer this but arthritis doesn't give a shit how old you are.

I'm replacing them at the same time. It's because I'M ONE HARDCORE BAD ASS M.F. AND THAT'S HOW I ROLL!!!!!!! :sarcasm:
Or, it could be, I'm a scared sniveling Sally, afraid I might never go back for the other one so I better have them done the same time.
Na, I'm sticking with my first story. Kinda bummed, figured I'd get a chance to run my Sweet feed or Birdwatchers before surgery soes I'd have some homemade painkiller enhancements when I get back home.
Also I'd like to apologize to everyone in advance. Just incase I post anything really dumb or that doesn't make much sense as I'm allowed my IPad in my hospital room. If I do, Just reply to my post with ( put down your Ipad,it's time for your nap!).
I'm confident all will be well. But if you don't hear back from me and you see my widow put a crazy looking copper steam punk lamp for sale that looks like a flute on ebay, bid high!!!!! :D

Good luck my man. Hydrocodone will become your friend. Don't be shy about asking the nurses for more.

That sucks Navy. I agree arthritis knows no age. I've had it in my lower 4 lumbar discs for many years now. Beggin to go under the knife but the doctors won't do it. To risky for my age. They load me up on oxycodone and that helps. With UJ or rum on the rocks heehehe. Good luck recovering.

Good luck and speedy recovery, Bro. I'm old and familiar with nurses myself. Stick with the first story.

Yep, know what you mean, they wont work on mine neither. I broke two vertibra and bulged two disks along with authoritus and a bone spur thats as long as one of my disks. And they wont work on me, so I have to put up with a leg thats on FIRE all the damn time. Well, about half the time its just a hot ember in my leg, the other half of time its BURNIN ASS FIRE HOT.... Thanks all, I'm not going to the VA. Cuz I got good insurance. In my real life I'm quit the practical joker. I'm already planning to get a couple femoral heads from my butcher shop (lamb maybe) and display these as my old parts .....Hehehe...

I've had knee replacement and I did both knees at the same time. Figured, what the H***, why go through the crap twice. I discovered Navy that the best way to get the nurses going is a good cussin', they don't like it but it gets 'em movin'.

I'm tipping one now. Actually, make that two, cuz I made it, and it's 72%, not that 35%-headache-causing-crap I have been buying in the Class VI stores for so many years. Sorry you have to deal with the surgery, but hope it all comes out well.

Way to go Navy vet. Do it all now. Less procedures = less chance of a fukup. Facing bullets is easier than facing the doc. I may not follow my own advice if and when this problem arises, cos I have a healthy disrespect for the medical industry. It can be good or bad according to chance.

Made it threw surgery! Feels like a got run over. Holy crap!!! Found out morphine makes me sick as hell. This was no joke. My legs are now attached to my body with Titainum, ceramic, and polyethylene.
Teaching me how to walk again. Hope to be home in the next few days.
How long will my Birdwatchers and sweet feed wash last? It's finished but might have to wait a wile to run.

I've had to let a BW sit over a week after completion. But I have read on here that as long as you keep it clean, it should last for months. Seem to recall one feller had to leave his (or mayhap he was just testing the theory) for 5 months before running it.

Glad the surgery is over. Skip the morphine, get that SF ran, and use your "homemade medicine" to help with the pain! :wtf:

You would think that any doctor worth his salt would know that the only synthetic approved for use on a HD member filled with high proof alcohol is PTFE !!!

How did I miss this development. I think you made the right choice having both done. Having dated a nurse the last six years I recommend being as ornery as possible with a smile on your face with your nurses. A little flirting will go a long way. You sure dont want to piss them off!

Good luck!

A warm thanks to everyone... I'm defiantly on the mend. The hip pain I suffered with for a few years is GONE!!! For the short term I have a lot of new pain to deal with and I need to learn how to walk again. I'm assured it will go away and ill walk normal. I haven't posted much as the pain meds made me unable to use my IPad without getting sea sick. That's the kicker for me. I've sailed in the worst weather the North Atlantic could dish out. Never bothered me a bit..... Now I'm taken out by a little white pill.

I had my friends help me run my 30 gal bird watchers and 2 gen sweet feed. I'm gonna post about it in the two threads.
Bad news is I had to give it all alway cuz the doc has me on the rat poison. (warfin). Looks like my house is a dry county till May 18.
