Hi, i'm not in the US but i've seen that a member here KYChemist is building a new pot with new sheets of copper, maybe if you look through his posts there will be a supplier mentioned.

I'm not aware of there being such a thing as "food grade" copper... Most new copper sheeting is pure enough to be considered food grade...

Hi, not being in the US i would say that if you can get copper tube 2"x 10ft, i would ask them to cut into 2 or 3 separate pieces before shipping. Long tubes tend to get damaged very easily in transit. Hth

Thank you for the suggestion.
These are available in retail.
I am not sure about the copper Grade: Type L or Type M is there any difference?
Thanks again.

What that refers to is wall thickness, for our needs you can get by with dwv, which I believe has the thinest wall. And would be the least expensive..
If your on the west coast, an outfit called Alankan Copper has lots of stock..

Hi
@SD. i was thinkin it was wall thickness, or weight by length, same in steel, you buy it by weight. Not by section form or sheet, it all works out to cost the same.
by weight !

to the OP
buy what you can get at the best price available.
wall thickness won't make too much diffrence on a hard strippin run, thinner wall will get to temp quicker
