what mill do you have?

Post by nickbbb »

I am looking at getting a mill for corn and another for grain. Unless someone has one that can do both. What does everyone have?

The thread is here, might as well reply. I use a Cereal Killer Grain Mill. I haven't tried it on corn yet but it has ran through at least 300# of grain. Harbor Freight variable speed 1/2" drill works well with it.

A Corona mill will do all of the above. The crack on barley etc isn't optimal, but I haven't had a stuck sparge using one. I'd recommend it if you can only have one mill. It's designed to work on dried corn, but it will work for most types of malt.

I have a Monster Mill 2, what I have read is it actually works better than the MM3. Handles anything I can throw at it including corn.

I have the monster mill 2 as well. Have it hooked up to a gear motor and it chews through corn like it is water.

handmade roller mill powered by hand or my gear reduction motor depending on how much grain I'm doing , works fine for barley, oats, wheat and the like. my rollers don't open far enough for corn, I grind my corn malt in a blender for now.

I have a barley crusher. It works but isn't very high quality. I've had to repair and adjust it numerous times over the 10 years I've owned it. I can't believe it's lasted that long. I'll buy a Monster Mill sion I think.
