somehow though I'm not sure I remember how, I killed all the spam bots who were trying to get to it.

I'm thinking of upgrading these forums to the newest version of phpbb soon but I'm a tad nervous about hosing things

Is there any particular reason you want to stick to phpbb?

If it would help you any, I don't mind setting up a test forum on one of my servers that you can have full access to.

I like Simple Machines Forum (SMF) myself... They have a converter to migrate from phpBB2... My project uses Invision Powerboard but if I was to do it over again I'd go with SMF to save licensing fees...

Yes I'm rather a big fan of SMF.

What I was meaning UJ was that I could set up a SMF test forum for you to have a play around on to evaluate.
