Silver and Quartz filtering?

Post by brantoken »

Take a look at the web site below, these guys claim that "filtering" vodka over silver and Quartz help the flavor and taste of vodka.

I have also seen a couple of polish wodka producers claim to use flint.

Anybody know why? Is this some kind of secret science or is it just marketing Hooey?

I can't find any mention of such anywhere else or an explaination of why or what for?

Can rocks and silver make my stuff better? ( excluding with women, who we all know have a fondness for rock and silver combinations)

I'm thinking that it wouldn't do much good, if any. A lot of it is just marketing gimmick. If they're actually doing it, they probably just cut their carbon with ground glass and added some silver filings.

You'll get a more full bodied flavor by pouring it down a cows tail than over flint, quartz, or silver... You can bypass using charred oak for color and flavor that way too...

Sadly Rad, I know exactly what you're talking about. I made a beer last year that smelled and tasted like that. Gave it to some mexican friends and told em it goes well with manudo.
