Blackstrap molasses fermentation not air bubbling
Hi, on monday 15-02-10 at 9:51 i started to ferment my wash out of molasses, I used 3 parts of water per one of molasses, i reached 30 Brix, i used Liquor Quick Turbo Yeast X-Press w/agents, i used like 80 gms of it. i mixed them all, then i closed it with a homemade airlock, which is a plastic tube that goes to water bottle, filled with water. I think something is going wrong because i haven´t seen any air bubbles on it, but i see that it has all those bubbles in top of the wash, and i see that is fermenting, because i looked at it and i saw that it was like making little bubbles inside the wash

Assuming that "it" is a plastic bucket, you might have a leaky lid seal... You could try sealing the lid to the bucket using duct/duck tape...ozgar wrote:i mixed them all, then i closed it with a homemade airlock,

depending on several factors can take long as a month . you used turbo yeast so that should of had added nutrients. if temp is kept 75 0r so should do fairly quick say week or so. When it quits bubbling its should be done.Be a good time to start reading and doing searches on questions ya have.

How deep into your bottle of water is your tube?
You only need about 1/2" in case of evaporation 6" or more is quite a bit of bubbles to push the water out of the tube may take a while.
Just a thought.

i think that might be the problem, the tube is long, it goes from the top of the carboy, to almost the bottom of it, because i grabbes the bottle with the carboy with duct tape.still crazy wrote:How deep into your bottle of water is your tube?
