LOL this is something i would do/ get straped in, run real hard, chin in the wind, as my feet break the edge of the earth,, i look up and damn,,,,,,, the mice has ate holes in my gliderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yep. My wing already has a fair amount of ripstop on it. A little more can't hurt. :D I am more worried about it being too porous from being an old wing. Then It would still fly just not as well, sinks more than it is supposed to and you have to find lift more often to stay airborne. Fun hobby though. Another reason why I stopped is that the buddy I used to go with moved away. Flying solo is not as fun, or as safe.

Go for it. It is not that expensive to get into and it is pretty easy to learn. The biggest requirement is probably to be near a place where you can fly.

One of my other hobbies is photography.

A pic tells a thousand words.

Here's a few pics of the locals dropping in during todays stripping run.

Austin Nichols, are those birds eating perfectly good cracked corn...??? Now, if it was a hog, cow, deer, chicken, etc., that was going to produce food on the table, that's one thing... But if you're just feeding it to fancy birds, well, that's borderline alcohol abuse... :P

I juggle my time between
Weekend sailing trips on my small 23' sailboat(weather permitting)
Camping and sharing tales of "brewing experiences"
Bicycling and Running
Rock climbing and hiking
Kayaking

Yes, yes I know, I like being outside and doing active things, I can't stop doing what I love *coughcough* especially distilling *cough*

Training/riding horses (and now mules  )
Sitting on the porch watching the colors of sunsets change -- with my two brunette children. The redheads don't seem to have an interest
cooking -- like to experiment with international flavors - though I'm in the heart of cajun country
drawing/painting -- though this has been limited with the kids; can't seem to get to that "place"

I enjoy running. I run all kinds of foot races for long distances; 10k, 1/2 Marathons, Marathons. I just had some hernia surgery and its got me sidelined from running for a few weeks. So, I've been shinin' like a star.

I enjoy caving, rock climbing, riding 4 wheelers, hunting, fishing, photography(http://www.flickr.com/photos/caverdave, camping, looking for native american artifacts, and hiking. Caving would have to be my favorite though. So far this year I'm planning trips to Pennsylvania and Tennessee, not to mention the various caving projects closer to home. It's what takes up most of my time when I'm not working. Mr. Spooky, I managed to drink a little too much corn likker one day while out with some buddies and managed to catch me a 38" rattler with my hands. I don't know how I didn't get bit, but I consider myself lucky.

Great subject, nice to see the type of folks in our hobby, pretty good folks and down to earth. I love everything outdoors, when I'm not drinking or brewin, I'm in the Olympic Mountains, huntin, hikin, cutin wood, shootin or just about anything that ends with "in"
A couple of pics from last falls huntin camp.

I fly for a living, but wish I was doing it for fun, too. The big plane is cool and all that, but I miss the raw flying of a Bell 47 or towing banners in a Husky. I just renewed my flight instructor certificate so I can start teaching the kids, but my son has already declared that the flying club Cub is "too basic" for him. He wants buttons...lots of buttons. I can't imagine getting him in a glider or parachute.

No boat - kids and wife all needed braces.
No motorcycle - have you seen how people drive cars in Florida? Might as well call them donor-cycles.
No gun - did enough rabbit hunting in college (.22 pistols). Bagging bunnies was fine, but I should have spent more time trying to bag...ahem...yeah...

For fun - I sing/compete in a barbershop quartet, write comedy bits for other quartets and choruses, and invent things. I should have patented the curved shower curtain bar in 1986 when I had the idea in the first place. I have several eclectic million-dollar ideas in the hopper and just need the million-dollar gumption to bring them to market. (The Zip-Lock Condom - blue and yellow bands make green when sealed - didn't catch on.)

Other than that, I like the occasional cigar and hope to be brewing beer (for me), rootbeer (for the kids), wine (for my bride), and bourbon (for the hell of it) in the very near future.

Thanks for playing. We have a nice home version of the game for you as a parting gift.

Rockchucker asked what kind of deer these were, these are from the east side of the Cascades and are mule deer, we do stray a bit from the Olympics now and then.
