We'll have to see if Coast to Coast picks up the "story" I did get a chuckle out of this line, though -

This kid is probably living close to Chernobyl? Good thing the Yugoslav war ended before this kid was born. Might have attracted a lot of unwanted metal at that time.

A simple magnetometer would debunk these hoaxes... Any levels of magnetism would be miniscule... I remember back before electronic watches when my mother used to have to rotate between wrist watches because they would become magnetized and stop running... It took several months for each one to magnetize and subsequently demagnetize... But she had zero notable magnetic attraction...

it is a common parlor trick. why has no one noticed that those spoons are stainless steel ? this crowd should know about stainless, magnetic properties.

here is a trick you can do yourself..i have used this trick many times. place a quarter or similar coin on the bar, counter, table, what ever flat smooth surface is handy. lick a small spot on the palm of your hand, at the base of your middle finger, place the licked spot on the coin with mild force, slight preasure and lift your hand rapidly and close your hand as it clears the table. all of a sudden your magnetic to money. a little practice and you have mastered another parlor trick. cob

A friend of mine in high school used to be able to make a compass needle go crazy with her finger - not wearing any rings or bangles etc. She didnt have any pins plates or aught else in her either. Was bizzare. :eugeek:

My grandpa had the same problem. He would also run the batteries down on digital watches. Extremely fast. I never really thought of it being a magnetic field. I always assumed it was an electrical field.
