howling at the moon drunk
acouple of weekends back, went down the river to clean lanes and fill feeders. i had brought a quart of 185 proof korn likker for my 2 cousins to sample. well, about midnight, they were howling at the moon, carrying on about want to go frogging. i secured the guns and boat keys and went to bed. the next morning, one was curled up next the fire, and the other , was asleep in the long grass in back of the camp. lesson learned...only bring a pint at a time!

Sounds innocent enough.......just keep your proof in the "safe" zone.

"Those were the days my friend", I think I remember that phrase as a song but it does bring back memories

Been there / done that -- unfortunately, I was not making my own at the time and was also roaring at the toilet later that evening.

That, my friend, is an irresponsible mistake that I hope you don't repeat... NEVER let people drink spirits at that proof as it's just plain unhealthy... The human digestive tract cannot handle that high of proof without temporary, at best, or permanent damage... Dilute your spirits to a manageable proof (100-ish) before they ever reach a potential drinkers hands...batf wrote:i had brought a quart of 185 proof korn likker for my 2 cousins to sample.

i hear you mr rad. but i figure when you put in a coke or something the high proof dilutes. aint no way i would drink it straight at that proof, i would be sacred that would peel the enamel off my false teeth. but your right, and i wont pass out my likker at that strength for sure!
and for the record, both them boys have done jail time for dui's, both said that was the drunkest they got on a quart. and come on down to the camp anytime..... and bring more shine

"both said that was the drunkest they got on a quart."
If they are used to drinking 100 proof, that was equivalent to almost 2 quarts!
