Hi. New guy here.
I guess I'd be considered pretty green; I'm about 1 month into this and without any equipment yet. I've been reading this forum for about 2-3 weeks and have been trying to educate myself.
I think I won't be builder of equipment because I lack the necessary skills; have no room to work, and no friends who have the helpful skills I'd want to barter for (e.g., electronics, welding, soldering). That may sound lame, but I'm expert in other things... Just nothing pertinent to this hobby. :/
Anyway... That's a quick bio. I've read the rules of the road, and have used the Search function frequently. I hope to become a member in good standing of your community.
Greetings

Greetings, YeeHaa...
So, out of curiosity, just what does your skill-set encompass...???
Plenty of great information here as you are already discovering... What type(s) of spirits are you interested in at this point...??? What type of heat would you be using...??? The more we know, the better we can guide you along to get you on the right path...
Good luck...

Welcome to the forum, I am also curious about your skills for bartering. Takes a long time in this hobby to feel comfortable getting to know others!

Re: Greetings
Welcome aboard. There are some reputable builders out there. If you ate looking to buy. I would research each one of them. Then do a search around here to see if there is any more info on it. Don't just jump on the first one you find.
Good luck.

Re: Greetings
Thank you all for the welcome.
I'm mostly right-brained. I am an old school technical illustrator (i.e., not CAD). That doesn't buy you much in world of barter, though.
I'm not a total lightweight. I'm good with basic woodworking, and can weld using Oxy-acetylene, but that's a dying skill what with all the alternatives. It would be practically useless with copper and stainless.
I'm intereted in as pure ethanol as is possible, but who knows where this will take me. I want to start small; maybe 8-13 gallons, and would like to go electric.
