ive been around stills since i was about 5 yrs old but being around them dosent give you any experience so ive been cooking for about 10 yrs now rite now i have a 10 gallon ss cooker with a 36 in copper 3 plate reflux tower that has copper packing between the plates that runs into a triple thumper that consist of 3 quart mason jars then into a 1/2 in copper 24 ft worm i have an old 36 in well on my property that i use for cooling { just garden water and cooling } the coolin water is a constant 64 deg year round i have a carbon filter i used to use that i made out of 2 ft of 2 in copper pipe a rounded end cap with a little packing and about
1 1/4 pound of carbon but i quit useing it 4 yrs ago didnt need it
if you see anything wrong with this set up pls explain i usualy make a run then take it apart and clean and store it {{ noisey neighbors}} im in the prosses of making a 20 gallon cooker now so if i need to change somthing now is the time to do it i usualy
get 1 to 11/4 gall of 170 to 185 proof on the first run if my mash is at 16% abv and yes its smooth as water.
