oops

Post by Uncle Jesse »

Sorry guys, I rebooted the wrong server so homedistiller went down for a few minutes. :oops:

It will go down again later today when I install a new kernel. Had to build one with IPFW (IP Firewall) so we can more easily deal with site suckers.

If HD is down for a few minutes and this means Uncle Jesse joins the pack ... please let's have some more down time! Glad to see you around, Uncle J, and not only in the back ground.

I think UJ posted, because I hit him up with some email asking questions. I knew we are planning on building the kernel with new firewall code, and thought he had rebooted to update the kernel. Nope, a little different issue, but it only lasted a few minutes.

95% of the time, we simply spout out geek speak, without even thinking about it.

Then there is that other 5% of the time, where we talk using similar mechanism to the auto mech, listing issues like carburator belts, or muffler pumps (cept it is geek stuff), and laugh our arses off,

Sometimes we even get a chance to have fun...

Code: Select all

$doAge = false;

preg_match_all("/C2H5OH/", "alcohol laden wash", $jars);

foreach($jars as $jar){
  if(acceptable($jar)){
    $whitedog .= $jar;
  }else{
    $feints .= $jar;
  }
}

store($feints);

if($doAge){
  age($whitedog);
}else{
  enjoy($whitedog);
}

I am working on 'trying' to get apache web server to do what I want, and use the mod_rewrite, to rewrite 'friendly' URLs.

If you see some 'weird' stuff for a short time (like accessing a forum link, and somehow getting part of the parent site), then please bare with me. I see it also, and will set the configuration back, hopefully almost instantly.

What I am trying to do, is to get the parent site to work like this:

homedistiller.org / menu / page / subpage (I am not typing the whole URL, because I do not want to put a broken link out there). What the re-write does, is allow me (once I get it right), to transform that URL, behind the scene, into the URL which my script wants it to be. I just have to fix the apache configs. Things were turned off, and when I turned them on, things started to fail. I just have to get things working, using some documentation scatter all over the web, much of which contradicts other documentation. Fun stuff.

I sent a girl to the auto parts store (back in my early 20's) for muffler bearings. She came home with a couple of donut gaskets, and told me never to talk shit to her again. She was one of the dizziest blondes I had ever met at the time, but had great, herrm, lungs, yea, thats what it was. Turns out, she did know cars, knew I was fukin with her, and played along.

Damn, I wish I was 21 again......... Just for a week or 2.

While I was in the Air Force we would send the newbies out to get a bucket of prop wash a roll of flight line and a metric crescent wrench. :lol:

There is a good vid on YouTube for changing the blinker fluid. :lol:
