A possible 'new' fun underground hobby I may look into

Post by Husker »

Found a fun little site (well, bigger than HD forums, lol). It is scammer/spammer baiting.

I am still looking into it. Already signed up on the forums there, and am looking around. I have read a couple of the threads from the 'letter archive'.

I HATE scammer/spammers, so I may do this, simply out of spite. them vermin have wasted SO much of my time over the last many years. Time to waste some of their time.

Here is the site. http://www.419eater.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Great site. I used to tape "return postage guaranteed" junk mail cards to paper wrapped bricks back in the day, same spirit here.

LMAO Husker...

I've been reading this thread: http://www.419eater.com/html/joe_eboh.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

He made the guy paint his bare chest for the "Holy Church of the Painted Breast" and made him sign An induction agreement. I lost it at rule number four "I shall not touch the one-eyed trouser snake"

First one I read was this.

http://www.419eater.com/html/bigman.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
  • Got him to carve a wooden bust (he was being an art dealer / art school)
  • then the bust was damaged in transit, by a strange rodent (photo shopped a squirrel).
  • The bust was to be shipped back, buut it never arrived.
  • After a lot of wrangling, the Klingon shipping and trading company started working with him.
  • They found the problem. There was a damaged box, which they investigated, and found 90% chewed up remains, and a dead squirrel. Some 'African Tree squirrel (Helioscirurus sp.) ' So since the squirrel originated from nigeria, the shipping company was claiming no liability.
  • Then got him to do a billboard,
  • Then got them to do a 7 min video (Monte python's dead parrot), using a 'new' character.
  • Then after the vid was delivered, this new video agent was arrested (fake web site got a 'FBI seized' type front page).
  • Then the mogu was working with the cops.
  • The video agent was then claiming that he knew this guy, and that the guy was requesting all sorts of nasty animal sex pix, and other gay pix.
  • But the main video perps were from Spain, so there was a special Spanish agent, Juan Trique Ponee was the lead agent.
  • This type shit went on and on, until the scammer did finally give up.

The read had me rolling, and I COULD NOT STOP reading.

From the 'few' letter archives I have read, they are almost as good as the read-along on the stinky meat project, which itself is a GREAT read.

I have been doing this for a while, although not to this extent. I list alot of things on craiglist, so I have no shortage of scam emails. I have a collection of scam checks from these guys made out to everyone from "peter gozinya" to "Ben Dover" to some I wont post here. I am going to frame them and hang them in my bar room. I started out sending them to the FBI, but I dont think it does any good. Some checks look as real as it gets. With real routing numbers to banks all over. Others are so fake, you can tell they are printed off on some shitty printer right in the coffee bar in Niggeria. I started doing it after watching a dateline special on it a few years back. I figger if I can keep them busy trying to scam me, they wont actually get some other poor soul.

Worst one I had, I went back and forth with the guy for a week. On one of the emails I sent from my work email, I forgot to erase my signature with my work phone number on it. The basterd called me. I got a phone call with a goofy ass number about 12 digits long. I answered it and he had a thick nigerian accent. I knew right away what happend. I went back and forth with the guy, eventually loosing my cool with him. I called him every name in the book. He never got mad, and kept telling me he was the real deal. I told him ok, If he sent me 100 bucks to my paypal to buy some gas to get to town I would wire him the money. Needless to say, I never heard from him again... And never got my 100 bucks

Good fun... It really is hard to stop reading once you get going. I love the guise of shipping a live squirrel in the package. Hilarious.

Great idea..I always get fliers in the mail with some of my bills, which I gladly return to them when I pay the bills, makes me feel better knowing that they paid to print the stuff out and have to put it in their own garbage can

in the mid 90's i managed to dig up the phone number of the so.cal. company that was developing the bulk of the pop up ad's at the time, published it to the web, and called them twice to express my thanks for their efforts before it was disconnected.

the current scam here in nz is some guy ringing up saying hes from microsoft helpdesk and offering to fix your computer using remote assist usualy at least once a week. need less to say if we are approaching mid tide in the bottle of hot stuff we chuck the guy on speaker phone and string him along for everyones entertainment if you really want to get those scammers excited tell them the only computer you have is your company laptop. once the scammer is hooked reel him in and then start getting weird on him the game is to kept him on the line for as long as you can before he realises your taking the piss.eg IP address? yes sir 0800.EAT.SH%T oh sorry didnt that work? try my mac address...1800.GO/F%*K/YO.. as most of these scammers seem to have english as a second language it takes them a while..

no idea where the line in the sand of safe/unsafe sites are. I err on the side of caution BUT the same antivirue program freaked out when i started bidding on some "Baitable" long line traces on trademe so it could just be the keywords freaking it out. (mcafee and norton also freak out on that site)

That site is most likely blacklisted which would explain why so many security softwares flag it as potentially threatening... I removed images linked from an external hosting site just yesterday due to suspicious activity which could have potentially infected members computers... I expend more time and effort removing viruses from customer computers than I could ever fully charge for and have come to learn that the average end user entrusts security softwares far more than they should... End users need to be protected from themselves more than falsely relying on software but retraining the human psyche is a daunting task at best... But I digress...
