SCR voltage controller

Post by Da Yooper »

I found some on ebay and was wondering if anyone has bought any from here? Are they good and do they work? For only $10 I might just order one and try it.

I have a 120v 2000w heating element in my boiler and wanted to be able to control the element(more heat, less heat) by using one of these controllers. I was just wondering if I could use it in line with my element.

That is a very nice controller aside from the fact that it ships from China... I have looked at that model several times but just don't like international ordering...

it will more than likely need a larger heat sink

Would this unit handle the amp draw from a 2000w element?

It's rated for 4000w on 220v. So it can handle a 2000e 220v element.

Thanks guys, controller is ordered and I will see about adding a larger heat sink. I will have to wait it's coming on a slow boat from China. Would like to have it in place for my sac. run but not sure I can wait that long. I have made 4 runs already 2 with water and vinegar and 2 with just water.
