Yep thats bout all you can do. I once knew worked with an ol boy (tweeker) , after he quit the company it was most of a year till I ran in to him again. I asked him what are you doin nowadays? He says I'm spottin steel. I took it to mean he was spot welding at a body shop or the like and I said as much and asked, where at? He says , No no i drive around during the day and spot stuff I want then go back at night and steal it. :lolno: True story, though it loses something in type...

I know how you feel, a while back someone broke into my workshop. They only stole 6 bottles of whisky, but fortunately left my still and expensive tools. I have now got deadlocks and an independant alarm system installed, and have not lost anything since.

Some peoples children! I can't stand a thief. I hired a friends son to help me finish mudding on my basement remodel. I hate mudding. And I paid him way more then his crap job was worth cause he needed it. And what did he do. Stole a bunch of my tools. I still haven't figured out why he stole half my cordless tools drill jig saw rotary saw but only 1 battery and no charger? And they were all together. All he had to do was grab the box and go.

Man I'm sory to hear that. That really sucks.

I had a guy break into my work truck, and after I chased him away, I stole his bike that he had stashed in the bushes our breeze way. I waited by our window and watched him looking high and low for his get-away bike. Even though it was dark, I could tell from his frantic body movements that he was in complete disbelief. I held back the snickers and I'm pretty sure he couldn't believe how bad the neighborhood really was lol. I gave the bike away a year later.

I know how your feelin' Rover. Went out one Sunday years ago to get the paper and my truck was gone. My first thought was, "H***, my truck rolled down the driveway last night (which was impossible)." The cops found the truck two days later. All my tools (about $2500 worth) were gone except one trowel.

At first it's disbelief, then ya get this sinkin' feelin' in your gut, then you're so pissed ya could kill someone.

Then ta beat all the insurance adjuster implied that I did it myself so I could get the insurance money. I wanted to kill him too!

I Hate theives!

Really feel for ya Rover.

Sounds like you should be looking to your neighbors
living high on copper. Not an inside job but a neighbor

Sorry to hear the news, unfortunately it is not just the loss of property but the feeling of total violation when someone breaks in. We had our house robbed years ago and I understand totally the sinking feelings you are having! Hang in there pal.

A lot of thieves pawn several hours from the local area, depending on your police they general notify all shops in the area on what to be on the lookout for. You can also watch ebay and craigslist.

i didnt expect to get any of it back. when i lived in baltimore county my work van was stolen(chevy stepvan) they found it 2hrs away on eastern shore stripped, burnt and all the tools and supplies gone. you would think that someone walking in to a pawnshop with a bunch of horseshoeing tools that is plain as day not a horseshoer would throw some flags lol but it dosnt. i got my 2in copper ordeal sorted out thanks to bentstick. now alls left to do is find a few feet of 3in and convince someone here to build me a 3in tappered lyne arm. i found a couple 1/4 keg hoff stevens stainless kegs down here on the coast today so when i get back tomorow im gonna get started on getting things ready for when my copper gets here.
