I have resigned

Post by olddog »

I have been retired for the last three years, and during this time, my wife who is younger than me has been working. My wife has now reached retirement age, I will now have company 24/7 which means that I will not be able to dedicate the time to the forum like I have in the past. I will still be hovering around as a member, so I will not be dissapearing all together.

Sorry to see you step down, friend, but it has been good working with you for that time you have put in.

Good luck playin around with the ole lady, treat her well! The door is always open on the site, if you choose to lounge around here more, and again want to lend a hand.

Good luck with your now full retirement, and thank you for all the work you've put in here at the forum.

Old dog...in the 4 years I've been here....you have contributed so much to this community, and have also stepped it up a notch in more ways than one. I wish you, and the Mrs...the best. And I hope you still stop in from time to time. And thank you for all the times you've helped me...responded to PMs, etc.

Mike, like most here, I am very sorry to see one of our biggest contributors have to tone down his attendance on HD. I scan the, 'View New Posts', thread daily and yours, among others are the first I link to read. I remember holding a Mapp torch for the first time, looking at my expensive 2" copper pipe with fittings and saying to myself,'Christ, Olddog does this with propane, get this friggin thing soldered you woos'. And sure enough, there really was nothing to worry about as the manual you provided us worked to a T.

Don't be a stranger here... Your right to spend some quality time with Mrs O...

As soon as my flute is finished, and I will finish it, a bottle of my finest will wind its way to your door...

Take care of yourself and Mrs O my friend. We are here but for a short time, and sometimes, if we are very very lucky, we get to know folks like you OD...

Keep in touch...

PS: as Rad says, keep the dust of that copper...

Hey olddog, take care in your full retirement and have fun too. Your inspiration and intelligence will be missed. You've helped too many to count and have single handedly driven up the price of copper :ewink:

Old Dog,
I cant let you run out of here without voicing my admiration. You showed ingenuity and courage in your still building. While others talk a mean game, you were building away. Testing, rebuilding, redesigning and refining. I did my best to read every one of your posts as your designs evolved. Your flute is a beautiful design.

I hope when those fresh ideas pop in to your head you will pay us a visit and throw down a challenge. A creative mind never stops working.

Thank you for your inspiration.
