Stepping down

Post by rubber duck »

Well it's been a great run here on HD. I have a commitment that will keep me away from the forum for the next year or so. I'll try to stop in every now and then to answer a few question or just to say hello, but I'm just not going to have much time.

I've really enjoyed watching the forum and hobby grow over the past few. I've made a lot of friends and received a lot of support. We've got a great group of talented folks here that have been invaluable in my pursuit of the perfect vodka and distilling in general.

Thanks to everyone and I hope to be back soon.

Huh? Where the hell do you think you are going? I dont remember getting a say about this. Did management let you out of your contract? Leave of absence? Damn.
I have a commitment that will keep me away from the forum for the next year or so.

Are you saying you got committed? They have medications for that now.

Dont think it will be that easy fella! Once your in, Your in for life. Who the hell is going to teach me when I finally want to do an AG?

I think you need to go out and buy a few hundred small rubber ducks for us to keep in our booze kits. What would rubber duck do?

Seriously, I will miss your sense of humor and kindly offered informative posts. I will try to keep things stirred up while your gone.

I know you get up to Seattle once and awhile. Next time PM me and I will meet you somewhere and buy you a beer.

Good luck Amigo.

Very sorry to hear this
Your advise and wisdome, especially when it comes to brewing and allgrain mashing will be missed and all that you have given in the past is appreciated.
Over 50% of my stuff is allgrain and you were a big part in helping me, just by reading past posts of yours, and I hope that the search engine points to your posts anytime the subject comes up.
Thanks for all you brought and I hope to read from you in the future!!

Not you to? Damn two Dogs and now the Duck what the pluck? I have always liked reading your responses around here. They will be missed. You have been a great help around here for the AG stuff along with many other things. I was hopeing you would be around when I got into AG latter down the road. So I could pick your brain. But I guess not. Hope you have time now and again to jump in and say hi.

Good luck with your commitment and take care of yourself.

And Thank you for all you have done.

Rubber Duck:

Good Luck on your quest.

More than once you impressed me with your knowledge and experience.

More than once I watched you calm down a thread that was spinning out of control.

More than once I cut and pasted something you typed, some bit of wisdom that you shared with the group.

More than once I chuckled over some saying or expression that you interjected.

More than once I will miss all of the above.

I did. I am not sure at this time, what the final color will be.

There will be a 'retired site management' group. People who have been asked to server, who have served, and then later stepped down, will be put into this group.

Some of the reason for it, is we have been asked a couple of times about 'normal' users that have posted to Q/A with mentors. What is seen, is that after a mentor has stepped down, but has posted to the Q/A, all of their posts were looking like a normal user had made the post. Thus, a new group is created to give color.

It will probably be some purple or something. I also think it's a little too pink, but it is funny for the short time it stays that color.

There, now a little less pink (but the pink was sooooo cute), and now the group is listed in the front page 'legend'.
