New season of Moonshiners started this week. I love this stuff. Nothing like comic relief to wind down after a hard day. Anyone wanna take bets to see how long it takes for one of these dim wits to blow themselves up this season
I heard that the state the show is filmed in (WV I think) demanded that all the moon shining they do has to be fake or they wouldnt let them do the show. I guess the state was upset with how the producers made the state look.
Actually these guys make all us 'stillers look bad. Being in the thoroughbred industry it's kinda like when HBO's "Luck" came out. It was billed as a show about racing written by an insider. I can tell you it could not be further off the mark!!! All it did was further damage the credibility of the sport by playing on false steriotypes. Although funny, this show is really pressing the dumb hillbilly image.
Hell cant be any worse the Beverly Hillbillies or Dukes of Hazard .Least dukes of hazard had Dasie to look at. And Ella Mae was easy on the eyes as well
It is amazing the stigma Moonshine has? Some friends will be in my the man cave and see several bottles of stuff and ask whats up with it, and when you tell them its homemade hooch they are all like, o hell no i'm not drinking that! But when they see that it comes from a nice clean looking still or watch you distill it, then they try it and say well hello! I have even had several that once they try it are ready to jump in start thier own stills.
What really got me was watchin them pump muddy water into the pot that was filthy inside. No tellin what all kinda crap was in there. Even if they were makin real hooch I sure wouldn't drink any of it.

They merely want to portray ALL people who partake in distillation as a bunch of dimwitted redneck country bumpkins running around in the woods with only half a clue... Hmmm... I haven't felt my high genius IQ slipping away while watching these shows, but I do yell at the television a lot...
Half Drunk.... I saw the back side of his eye ball on more than one occasion. I assume this happens when his brain overloads while trying to talk and breathe at the same time. Just saying.....

Hehe, I have not seen the new episodes, But I found last years to be quite comical. If Tickle don't make you laugh then nothing will. Once I understood that they were just recreating stories for the entertainment value, I kind of got the show. I enjoy it now purely as comic relief. I would love to see the crossing the border episode where they deliver some shine to Red Green at the Possum Lodge.
I always miss this damn show...I am addicted to Alaskan gold rush tho... In fact, watching reruns now leading up to the new episode. I make no excuses, I am addicted to these types of shows. Wife hates them...
I do want to add...if it weren't for my wife...I would prolly be sitting up on some creek side in Alaska with:
1) couple pair of underwear
2) couple cases of beans
3) my dogs
4) gold pan
5) 1,000 lbs of sugar
6) my still...
I think the show is ok, I guess. I have mixed feelings about it. The first episode this season did seem like "dumb redneck" which pissed me off. It also brings a lot of unwanted attention to people who are trying to make a living. I know if my brother was alive, he'd be pissed. He always told me "Don't do anything to draw attention to yourself. The last thing you want or need is people sticking their nose in your business."
