hello
hello ,this is my first post ,and i am new to all this ,with that said ,can somebody run me through a run with a hillbilly stylestill i know you slowly bring up the temp let it boilfor a short while like 30 min or so then run the heads off?then do you shut the valve off gain and start boiling down again to get to the heart of the matter?then agin for the tails ?i am haing a hard time seeing the process start to finish in my head,thanks ,and great site

I'm sure someone will be by to give you a rundown on how a plate rig operates, but your jumping the gun. Basically your asking about how to fly a helicopter before you know anything about fixed wing aircraft.

its a hillbilly flute ,i have one on the way ,and when it gets here i want to break it in right now,lol,i have a dvd that he made showing how to use it some what but not a a complete run through and then time deleted to shorten up the dvd ,i have read that it is avery easy rig to run and makes the heads and tails easy to find so to speak ,but just not shure how?thanks for any and all help

thanks for the links ,i have been there already ,lol,i love this stuff ,just want to wrap my head around it ,and know what is happing from start to finish ,like when your done ,is ther any thing left in the boiler ?or is it dry?would a double bottm on a boiler help prevent scortching if your running corn mash only?just to start wih ,i am like that little kid who wants to know everthing and then some,lol,thanks for the kindness all

Welcome BWB. I'd love to help you but I'm just a simple pot stiller. I'm sure that you'll find everything you need to know in the link that spooky gave you. It's long, but you have a lot of learning to do. Not difficult learning though, just a lot.
I would hope that the boiler isn't dry and yes, a double bottom on your boiler would most definately help to stop scorching. Whether it's a necessity is a different matter. You really have a lot reading to do before your still arrives.

Simple potstiller. Slow, single run.
(50 litre, propane heated pot still. Coil in bucket condenser - No thermometer, No carbon)
