We were in Cabo for Cinco de Mayo one year. It was quiet. I asked a bartender about it.
"What? Oh right, I forgot about that. We don't celebrate in Mexico, that's California. Here the president goes on TV and says something but that's all."

I know, here in the US we have parties and go out for Mexican food and yet in Mexico it is hardly recognized. Guess we just like an excuse to party!

Spent Cinco de Mayo on Beale St in Memphis until 2:30 AM. After a slab of ribs at The Rendezvous. Great food, music and a shit ton of beers. It was not terrible.

This year is not as fancy as past years but will be home with tequila to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Gives me a reason to try some new cocktails.

I’m still nursing my Star Wars day hangover so I’m skipping the celebration of cinco de mayo this year.

Once a year is not survivable for me. 3-4 times a week is more like it.

Cinco de mayo is the only american holiday I can think of

that wasn't invented by the american candy makers.

Good Mexican food is few and far between on Maui. My favorite (and one of the only good Mexican joints) was Acevedos Hawaicano, it's been closed for weeks now, so I was asking around and found out Acevedo passed away suddenly. Guy had to be younger than mid 40s too. Totally bummed out about it, mostly for his kin

We have a condo in Kihei and was suppose to be there last month for a month but we had a new granddaughter so rented it out. My wife and I love a great Mexican dinner. Where we live we have a Mexican Restaurant and the owner used to cook in the White House for President REagan.

I took a bottle of Raicilla down to beach at a friend's bar. There were 3 of us. We drank to kicking some french ass with machetes. Those days are long gone.
