Hello and welcome to HD, this is a great place to start your adventures in hobby distilling. Uncle Jesse's sour mash is a good one to start with. I to am a kraft brewer (beer) extract and AG, IPA, ales, reds and a few darks. Have fun and be safe

Flapper wheel and a drill will clean it up in a hurry. Being 3 ft long , get a peice of threaded (1/4") rod and screw it in the flapper wheel and the other end in the drill. Work both ends of the pipe. Good luck

Your thumper should be atleast half the size of the boiler, no less. Parent Site has some readings on thumpers , check it out.

I would put it at the 3 or 9 oclock position just above your first one. Just make sure it will always be in the wash.
